African Food Festival, Exibitions, Yoga and so much more

Jivamukti guru Petros Haffenrichter starts the festival day with an exclusive Yoga session. The philosopher and musician Petros teaches YogaAsana, Pranayama, meditation techniques and Bhakti Yoga. He leads part of the Jivamukti Teacher Training and has been organizing yoga retreats in his Creteashala for over 15 years. His goal is to return again and again to where we find our peace, regardless of external circumstances: to our heart. Often our intellect, our body, our expectations, preferences, dislikes and fears stand in our way. Yoga gives you the opportunity to free yourself layer by layer from the obstacles that prevent us from experiencing ourselves as we actually are: Free, wild, full of love and joy – without conditioning, without fear.

A picture says more than a thousand words: In cooperation with „DAHW – Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfehilfe e.V.“, Laura Lewandowski, journalist and co-founder of LIFE ACT, travelled for one month in Uganda and Ethiopia in April 2018. Their approach was to question: Where do our donations really go? Where is help needed? On the spot, she saw for herself. She recorded her experiences from the world’s largest refugee camps in reportage texts and in pictures she exhibited at the festival.

The African Food Festival Berlin brings the best of healthy and delicious African food culture to the capital. Since its successful launch in 2016, it has established itself as one of the most popular street food markets in Germany, offering an incomparable platform for innovation and diversity in African cuisine. All nations come together here: from locals and connoisseurs of African cuisine to gourmets who feel like going on culinary excursions. With its popular location, the initiators Juice Owusu and Liane Kobe attract around 8,000 visitors a year and are increasingly establishing Berlin as a new European hotspot for African cuisine.

Let DAHW experts inform you on site and get exclusive insights into their East Africa projects with 3D glasses.
